As part of the preparatory phase of the EUNICoast Doctoral School, the Short-term Mobilities scheme supports PhD candidates wishing to carry out a short research stay at a partner institution. 

The scheme aims to foster early collaboration, support interdisciplinary research, and strengthen doctoral capacity across the Alliance.

Key Information 

  • Duration: 1 to 4 weeks 
  • Mobility period: June–November 2026 
  • Host institutions: EUNICoast partner universities 
  • Funding: primarily via Erasmus+ 

Who can apply 

Applications are open to: 

  • PhD candidates enrolled in an EUNICoast partner university, 
  • candidates with supervisor approval, 
  • mobility projects aligned with EUNICoast thematic priorities. 

Priority is given to: 

  • early-stage PhD candidates, 
  • candidates without previous international mobility, 
  • interdisciplinary projects. 

Participation in the workshop is not a prerequisite for applying to the mobility scheme. 

How the mobility works 

  • project-based mobility, 
  • dates defined case by case, 
  • supervision by host laboratory, 
  • integration into research activities. 

 

Application and Selection 

Applications are assessed based on: 

  • scientific relevance and feasibility, 
  • contribution to the Doctoral School objectives, 
  • interdisciplinary added value, 
  • motivation and engagement.
