Joint Strategic Initiatives (JSIs) are collaborative projects designed and led by members of the EUNICoast community. Three were proposed by Student Council members themselves, and two will take their first concrete steps during the General Assembly in Dubrovnik (8–12 March 2026) through a dedicated student training programme combining expert workshops, laboratory visits, and field experience.
For EUNICoast Voices — a digital storytelling initiative — students will visit the Neuro Laboratory Axon for sessions on digital marketing, storytelling, and neuromarketing delivered by Prof. Ivana Pavlić and Prof. Barbara Puh. These skills will support the production of multimedia content capturing coastal community voices across Europe.
The Adriatic Blue Workshop focuses on marine pollution in the Adriatic. Students will visit the Maritimo Recycling NGO and the Department of Applied Ecology laboratories for sessions on marine litter and pollution from ships. Each activity runs two to three hours, with most venues within walking distance of the campus.
These initiatives demonstrate how student-led collaboration can produce tangible outputs while building the competencies needed for Europe's coastal future.
