The University of the Azores will host an upcoming International Intensive Course titled University Libraries: Building Bridges to Internationalisation, with the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin and Université Le Havre Normandie as main partners. The programme will take place in Ponta Delgada, Azores, from 4 to 8 May 2026, complemented by a virtual introductory session on 27 April 2026

Designed for library staff and international office staff, this BIP explores the strategic role of university libraries in advancing internationalisation. Through a combination of theoretical inputs and practice-oriented activities, participants will exchange good practices, strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, and reflect on how libraries can actively support international mobility and global engagement.

The on-site programme includes thematic sessions on internationalisation strategies, peer presentations from participating libraries, a study abroad opportunities fair, and learning missions involving libraries, museums, and archives in an insular context. The programme encourages active participation and collaborative learning.
