The aim of the 1st Student Festival is to bring together students from partner universities, by fostering synergies among them and within the Sardinian territory, and allowing them to explore the European thematics of the project. During the event (which comprises an online session and five days in presence in Sassari), over 100 students will be involved in a programme combining educational sessions, practical activities and cultural experiences.

At the heart of the programme are the hackathons: collaborative working sessions organised around four themes spread over the course of the week. Each hackathon is dedicated to a specific theme, rooted at the founding values of the European Union and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

Together, the hackathons adopt a rigorous, interdisciplinary approach aimed at formulating proposals that are feasible in practice. All sessions will be preceded by a lecture led by lecturers and experts from local institutions or partner universities. Outputs developed during the hackathons will be presented on the closing day of the Festival.

Afternoon sessions will be devoted to cultural and social activities, with a particular focus on the values of the EU, such as the recognition of a shared European identity, the passing on of local knowledge, social inclusion and cooperation, intergenerational dialogue, sustainability, equality and non-discrimination.
