The University of Sassari (UNISS) has opened applications for "Waves of Change", a student creative contest organised as part of the EUNICoast Alliance. Students from seven participating universities are invited to submit original visual or audiovisual works inspired by the coastal and island identity at the heart of the project's mission.
The contest is part of EUNICoast's Internationalisation@Home strategy, which enables students to build intercultural competencies without travelling abroad. Works must draw on one of five themes: The Territory as a Learning Space, Cultural Encounters, Behind the Scenes, Coastal Identity, and Home Away from Home.
Two submission categories are open. Visual works may take the form of photography, illustration, or comics. Audiovisual works may be submitted as video or music. Participation is free, open to individuals or groups of up to three students, and limited to one entry per category.
An International Jury, chaired by UNISS and including representatives from EUNICoast's Work Package 5 (Mobility and Internationalisation), external arts experts, and two student representatives from the Alliance's Student Council, will assess all eligible submissions. Evaluation criteria include thematic relevance, technical quality, originality, and communicative impact.
The award ceremony will take place on 21 September 2026 at the opening of the 1st EUNICoast Student Festival at the University of Sassari. Results will be communicated to all participants by email on 15 September 2026.
The submission deadline is 31 July 2026 at 23:59 CET. The full contest regulation and online application form are available on the University of Sassari's contest page. Students may also contact the contest coordinator at their home institution; contact details are listed in Article 12 of the regulation.
