EUNICoast is building its Common Research Agenda through a structured, bottom-up process led by WP3 and coordinated by the University of the Azores. The agenda draws on the expertise of five Teaching & Research Hubs, each addressing a distinct thematic area: coastal heritage and identities, blue circular economy, island governance, biodiversity and marine resources, and coastal engineering.
Joint Strategic Initiatives (JSIs) are collaborative projects designed and led by members of the EUNICoast community. Three were proposed by Student Council members themselves, and two will take their first concrete steps during the General Assembly in Dubrovnik (8–12 March 2026) through a dedicated student training programme combining expert workshops, laboratory visits, and field experience.
The University of the Azores will host an upcoming International Intensive Course titled University Libraries: Building Bridges to Internationalisation, with the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin and Université Le Havre Normandie as main partners. The programme will take place in Ponta Delgada, Azores, from 4 to 8 May 2026, complemented by a virtual introductory session on 27 April 2026.
EUNICoast is pleased to announce its participation in the European Student Assembly 2026 (ESA26), a flagship initiative bringing together students from across European University Alliances. From 20 to 22 April 2026, selected students will engage in high-level discussions addressing major societal, environmental, and political challenges facing Europe today.
The EUNICoast Alliance is pleased to announce an upcoming International Intensive Course focused on agile project management, with a specific emphasis on software development in coastal community contexts. The programme will be hosted by the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund (Germany) and will award 3 ECTS.
The EUNICoast Alliance will hold its upcoming General Assembly from 8 to 12 March 2026 in Dubrovnik, Croatia, bringing together the alliance’s governance bodies, management staff, academic communities, and student representatives for a week of strategic dialogue and coordination.
The General Assembly represents a key milestone in EUNICoast governance, providing a structured framework for collective decision-making, alignment of priorities, and cross-level exchange.
The EUNICoast Alliance is pleased to announce an upcoming International Intensive Course coordinated by the University of Sassari (UNISS), titled Ecology and Economics for Ecosystem Management: Fundamental and Practical Activities. This programme will be delivered in 2026 and will award 3 ECTS to participating students.
Designed for Bachelor and Postgraduate students from social and natural sciences, the programme adopts a strongly applied and interdisciplinary approach, addressing contemporary challenges in ecosystem management. It combines online preparatory learning with an intensive, field-based experience in a unique Mediterranean context.
