New common European ecosystem

The graphic illustrates a continuous cycle of developing working groups, integrating SDGs and EU values, addressing AI in education, and ensuring progress on key deliverables.

In early 2026, the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) has created two rectoral-level working groups directly connected to EUNICoast's educational agenda, led by Work Package 2 (Education).

The first is developing a guide to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals and EU Values into existing curricula across all faculties. This responds directly to the alliance's work plan on education reform.

The second working group leverages the University of the Balearic Islands' institutional approach to artificial intelligence, to deliver the EUNICoast Guide on Generative AI. The guiding philosophy: AI should support the development of students' critical reasoning and intellectual capabilities.

Meanwhile, Work Package 2 (Education) is progressing well on two key deliverables. The framework for incorporating European values and Sustainable Development Goals into curricula is due in April 2026, and the generative AI educational guidance is expected before the beginning of summer.
