On 14 April, Marcos Nadal (Secretary General) and Petra Frent Kaab (Alliance Manager) represented EUNICoast at the European Universities Coordinators Working Retreat in Brussels. The retreat was convened by the Commission and DG EAC as a strategic working meeting, with three thematic blocks: the design of the Erasmus+ action supporting alliances post-2027, the role of alliances in European competitiveness and the European Research Area, and the future of performance monitoring.
EUNICoast has reached a significant milestone in its digital development: the EUNICoast Virtual Campus is now available at campus.eunicoast.eu.
On 16–17 April 2026, over 150 representatives from European University Alliances gathered in Granada for a three-day workshop organised by the FOREU4ALL network and hosted by the Arqus Alliance. EUNICoast was represented by Begoña Arenas Romero, Quality Officer, and Petra Frent Kaab, Alliance Manager, who attended in person.
Université Le Havre Normandie has launched a Call for Expressions of Interest for five postdoctoral contracts under the EUNICoast European University Alliance. Contracts run for 18 months, with a target start date of November 2026.
On 15–17 April 2026, the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice holds its second transversal workshop in Granada, hosted by Arqus and the University of Granada. The event, titled “Aligning Project Management and Impact: A Practical and Strategic Dialogue for European University Alliances”, brings together around 140 participants from across the European Universities Initiative to tackle a question all alliances are grappling with: how do project management structures translate into measurable, lasting impact?
A genuine shared campus requires more than goodwill. It requires common infrastructure, shared standards, and technical interoperability across twelve institutions. EUNICoast is building that, through Work Package 6 (Digital Campus and Shared Infrastructure).
The Steering Committee has formally approved the EUNICoast Handbook for BIPs and Short-Term Mobility, unifying twelve different administrative systems under one operational standard. This is a milestone for anyone involved in organising or participating in mobility across the alliance, and a key achievement for Work Package 5 (Mobility and Internationalisation).
